V souvislosti s umenim bych o penezich hovoril radeji spise mene, ale stejne ne to lepsi tema na uvazovani nez vcerejsi politika...

Papezovy prezervativy

Nebyt Petra Koubskeho, nemel bych co komentovat ;-). Tentokrate jsme se ponekud neshodli. Psal o papezovych vyrocich stran pouzivani prezervativu.

Jen jestli jste zde, Petre, nespadl do pasti chozeni proti proudu pro samo chozeni ;-). V leccems mate pravdu, ale... Prezervativy se Africanum daji rozdavat (tusim, ze se tak deje). Pokud je to pro Africany komicke ci zahanbujici, je na case snazit se jim vysvetlit, ze jim jde o krk (kolik z nich si to vezme k srdci, je vec druha - ale i kdyby jen par!). Totez plati, pokud jde o neviru ve spojitost mezi pohlavnim stykem a AIDS. Pokud si to Mbeki a jini mysli, je treba jim rici, ze tomu tak neni a ze jsou nebezbecni blazni. Ano, vzdelani a ekonomika jsou pro Afriku asi dulezitejsi, ale nemusime hned mluvit o zachrane sveta, kdyz prozatim muzeme zachranit aspon par lidi.
Zkratka a dobre, tezko od papeze (a spravne rikate, ze zrovna tohoto) cekat neco jineho. Ale nelze byt v klidu a nepohorsovat se v momente, kdy clovek, jehoz slovo je z tech, ktera maji na teto planete rozhodne vetsi vliv, rika veci, ktere potencialne vedou k smrti lidi. Zvlaste kdyby jich mohl svymy slovy tolik zachranit. Chapu, ze tezko ted muze obratit a doporucovat vsem prezervativy. Ale pokud hlasa neco, co je dosti zrejme v rozporu s realitou a vede ke smrti lidi, tak je to odpudive. A vzlaste tehdy, jsou-li cleny rimskokatolicke cirkve lide, kteri smysleji rozumneji a to i tehdy, kdyz nejde o zivot (osobni zkusenost).
Kdyz se v souvislosti s AIDS v Africe o necem zamyslet, spise bych se zeptal nejakych ekologu (tj. vedcu zabyvajicich se dynamikou populaci apod., ne ochranaru prirody), jestli epidemie AIDS v Africe neni vlastne prirozenym stavem - priroda se proste reguluje...

Dukazy letani / Proofs of flying

Uf. Vcera jsem se svoji drahou polovickou a jeji mamou resil, jestli se pri letani bojim. Odpovedel jsem, ze ne moc, ale ze pri pristani citim respekt, protoze je to asi nejnebezpecnejsi faze letu (nebo start?). A zde je neblahe potvrzeni.

Entropie, svedomi a jak zijem

Petr Koubsky napsal o nastupu pani Polednove do vezeni. Po svem. Ja po svem reaguji.

Deda mi obcas posila chytre citaty... Nejsem na to dost vnimavy vnuk, abych si je pamatoval a zapracovaval do pameti. Ale jeden preci: "Pocatkum celiti hled, pozde jest po leku se shanet, kdyz zlu byl ponechan odklad a cas."
Jenze - malokomu se chce skoncit na hranici, na Sibiri, spadnout ze schodu, prijit do reci. A nekomu se nechce jen neco delat. Taky s tim bojuju.
Muzeme se zlobit na pani Polednovou, ze byla mlada blba holka. Moji vnuci se na me budou zlobit, ze jsem delal konzultanta - muzu se hajit, ze jsem nepracoval v investicni bance. Nasledky jsou mozna jine, podstata asi stejna. Aspon, ze jsem par lidi uchranil pred okradenim cikanskymi kapsari. Snad mi to jednou pricte k dobru.
Entropie ma tendenci rust, ne? A kdo jsme, abychom to menili. I kdyz - clovek, to zni hrde.

Znalci oceni

Pristala nam na stole jedna docela slusne velka nabidka z jednoho velkeho ministerstva. Jak uz to tak u takovych nabidek byva, je docela nejasna a nelogicka. Dokonce to vypada tak, ze bychom meli udelat procesni model (hooodne dulezite instituce, o jejimz zalozeni se uvazuje) - lec nemame vizi one instituce. A oni asi taky ne.

Kolega k tomu pronesl krasnou poznamku: "Preci nelze stavet procesy a podle toho pak vizi. To je reverzni engineering!"

...I felt something in the air...

But somewhere along the way, the deal takes on a life of its own—and can keep moving forward even when it doesn’t make sense." - it is a quote from an article on M&A by D&T nevertheless the feeling of "something" went wrong is pretty well described. Something went wrong even though many dedicated and intelligent people worked so hard.... And it actually doesnt matter whether you talk about some failed M&A deals, the financial crises or for instance the Challenger catastrophe.

Holesovice district, 15 February

Last week I spent three days at a motivation and communication skills training. I enjoyed that - not only because of the two trainers who were really good and experienced (an HR director of an automotive company employing some three thousand workers and one of Czech first headhunters) but also because of the other "students". Two of four were CEOs, one CEO-2 level manager from a large Czech bank. Experience in the air. We, of course, discussed the current economic downturn. Somehow our discussions turned to war several times. Strange feeling - usually big things start as small ones. Hopefully this is not the case.

Petr Koubsky, one of my favourite bloggers, wrote: "A water pipe broke somewhere underground. This is how the end of the world will look like: we will be waiting for someone to repair it. And looking for the number of a free of charge customer care."

And Vaclav Cilek (Letat s ptaky), one of my favourite authors, says: "I've always felt that there are two tendencies beside each other - a creative one and a destructive one. Both are big unpersonal powers - ancient Greeks would call them "gods" whereas modern people rather speak about darwinian strenghts of natural selection. Most of the old societies understood well that destruction is not a lack of positive deeds or a mistake, but a real power of its own following its own logic."

Expecting sophisticated crimes

In general - being a person full of doubts and sometimes even enjoying doubts - I dont like people without doubts. Mainly because they are not open to discussion - or they may be open to discussion, however I believe discussion deserves being called a discussion only if there is a potential of changing ones views. Without doubts this usually cannot happen. And discussion is something what allow us to adapt to changing environment and uncover new features of our world and lifes.

It is interesting that even people who are supposed to challenge assumptions daily, people who are paid for thinking "out of the box", sometimes overlook their own mental boxes and what's more are unable to accept this fact. People without doubts... One of the good examples is probably represented by the roots of the current financial crises - many assumptions have not been challenged. Most likely because people who were paid for doing so were pretty successful - and success usually is not the point of your life which would make you think deeply.
