Something to remember

In a couple of hours the No. 138 Squadron RAF Halifax of cpt. Hockey will cross the borders of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Later, members of Anthropoid, Silver A and Silver B will jump out of the plane into the moonless cold night. Several months later they will assassinate Reinhard Heydrich. It is midnight 28 December 1941.

There's nothing about Christmas in this song - but the atmosphere is somehow close to it: closeness, happiness, love. The piano part reminds me of Christmas carols.

Mam chut nejak zpracovat pocity ze vseho toho, co probehlo okolo pohrbu Vaclava Havla, ale to bude asi trvat dele, a dost mozna, ze to ani neprobehne. In the meantime si dovolim mu poslat aspon jednu pisnicku - jestli podle jeho vkusu, to veru nevim. Podle meho - urcite.
Tak tedy - odpocivejte v pokoji, pane prezidente. Myslim, ze s Magorem Vas tam nahore ceka spousta legrace.

Pictures and reality

Pics taken in Russia...but it is probably not that difficult to take similar picture in many other countries (except for Vatican, I guess).

The question which arises is quite simple - what is the reality? Is the pictures? Or something else? Here the pictures obviously (or at least to certain level) make fun of Russia. As a person who has never been to Russia it is quite difficult for me to assess the level to which it reflects reality. But this is, I believe, the problem of all pictures - whoever took them for whatever reason. But it is probably this kind of funny / weird pictures which makes us aware of this fact.
But try to explain it tabloid readers..

The way I perceive city

If I was asked to choose between city and country I would probably choose the latter one. Because of the views, because of the peace and so on. Yet that doesn't mean there is nothing I like about cities (not talking about the fact that I have spent my whole life in cities). I like the multi-structural nature of cities - not the structure of streets, for example, but rather those less structured hidden areas of cities (like this one) with all the dirt and dead ends or structures which resemble noise / drone music (like here).

Mily Jezisku

Rok se s rokem sesel a tak je vhodne napsat klasicky Jeziskovi. Divam se, co jsem si vyprosoval pred rokem...no, moc zmen tam nebude. Takze co by se mi letos libilo:

• Knihy: J. Dylan - Jonesova pravidla uspesneho muze, neco od Iva Mozneho, od Miloslava Petruska (tip 1, tip 2) nebo Zygmunta Baumana. Letos jsem orientovan nejak sociologicky :-). Update: jeste by nebylo spatne neco od Stanislava Komarka, napriklad Ochlupeni blizni.
• Hudba (tam byl loni Jezisek dosti hodny, takze seznam proridl): Methadrone, Loscil, Ghosts of Breslau, Cold Fusion (drone), Ben Frost, Destroyer, Storm of Capricorn, Zbigniew Preisner. Nic noveho me ted nenapada. Ale ano, preci: Johnny Cash.
• Whisky (idealne single malt ze Speyside nebo Islay, nebudu se zlobit ani za klasickou Balantinku)
• Predplatne: Respekt nebo Art & Antiques
• Sypany caj (tak tady jiste zmeny jsou, takze muze byt Puer, uzene caje, kazdopadne nic aromatisovaneho, spise caje cerne, idealne cim tezsi, tim lepsi)

To je asi tak vse, co me napada. Ponekud varuji pred oblecenim, neb zjistuju, ze zacinam mit pomerne nesnesitelne naroky, najme co se kravat a kosil tyce. Ale treba manzetove knoflicky by nemusely byt spatne.
