Heroes

19 Avro Lancasters of the Royal Air Force No. 617 Squadron taking off. Flying in the night to the heart of Germany. Using Barnes Wallis' bouncing bombs they attacked four dams releasing bombs from 18 m at 390 kmh/h. Two dams breached, two powerplants destroyed. Only 11 Lancaster coming back to their arfields.

One of the most inspirative operations of WWII, operation Chastice, began exactly 70 years ago.
