Tak nam chteji zavest databazi - aneb lekce ze zdraveho rozumu

Tak nam lid (a takynovinari) chce zavest databazi deviantu.

• Verejna databaze - zcela proti. Uz proto, ze se z toho muze stat bezva nastroj pro zvysovani nakladu bulvarnich deniku, nemluve o tom, ze primarnim cilem by mela byt naprava pachatelu, ne jejich dozivotni sikana.
• Neverejna databaze, pristup pouze pro policii - ona neni? Resp. policie nema moznost si najit vsechny rozsudky, v nichz byl nekdo trestan za urcity trestny cin? To me dost prekvapuje (i kdyz po vsech zkusenostech s verejnou spravou by me to vubec prekvapovat nemelo). Netusim, kdo vsechno muze nahlizet do trestniho rejstriku, ale predpokladam, ze takovych instituci nebude uplne malo. Je takovy problem si z neho vyfiltrovat ty, kteri byli odsouzeni napriklad za pohlavni zneuzivani? Pro uplnost - pro tu bych byl. Ale vzhledem k tomu, ze o praci policie v detailu vim relativne malo, muze mi to byt asi relativne jedno.

Zarazejici (i kdyz, vlastne to ani neni vubec prekvapive, odpovida to zpusobu mysleni prumeru populace, do nehoz spada, dle meho mineni, valna vetsina novinaru) je, jak zkratkovita je tato uvaha. Kdyz pedofilove (coz neni trestny cin, ale dejme tomu, ze nekteri z nich jsou odsouzeni za pohlavni zneuzivani), proc ne pachatele jinych trestnych cinu. Namatkou: znasilneni, vrazdy, loupeze. Databaze - o tu preci nejde, jde o napravu. Cili bych se spise ptal na to, jak moc je narizovana ustavni a neustavni pece, jak je dodrzovana, jake jsou nastroje pro jeji vynucovani, jak je uspesna, jaka je mira recidivy, na cem mira recidivy zalezi (vek, jine trestne ciny, rodinne a ekonomicke zazemi pachatele), kdo zodpovida za identifikaci pricin recidivy, kdo zodpovida a jak plni povinnosti souvisejici se snizovanim recidivy a tak dale a tak dale. Nechci se rouhat, ale nekdy by nebylo spatne videt svet jednoduseji.

P.S. "Vtip" teto diskuse je samozrejme v tom, ze o pricinach zmizeni Anicky se zatim vubec nic nevi. A bohuzel, je mozne, ze se to nebude vedet nikdy.

Spending my time...

...and enjoying two days off.

Just browsing and catching feelings and ideas.

Tomorrow I will again swim in a cold river - this time it will be Labe in Pardubice, expected temperature around 10 degrees (update: 8 degrees and sunny). That could be a good preparation for an arctic journey :-).
In the meantime to train my brain too I discovered this list of thought experiments. Well, nothing really deep, yet good for refreshing one's mind.
Felling a little bit blue I would appreciate if a blond girl from Sweden would appear here suddenly and ask: how do you do? This kind of mood can force you to start thinking of something that lasts and express your emotions in an original way. Or start taking great pictures. Or just get drunk.
I would probably feel best hiding in a DIY home somewhere in the woods. And thinking of distant cold places.

So this is the way I am spending my time. Sometimes you need this kind of black hole in your relatively productively spent time.

A zaroven se nemuzu ubranit silnym slovum: kdyz nejaky novinarik pise vetu ve stylu "podnikatel zpusobil / spachal / okradl...", jednu bych mu lupnul. Neni-li kdo schopen rozlisovat podnikatele od gaunera, mel by jit do vyroby...

A True Classic

Paranoid by Black Sabbath (or Ozzy if you want): a song with incredible energy and drive. Even though I enjoy for instance miminalist music this piece is something really difficulut to overcome. A top quality in its category and probably not only. Morale: One may not like certain style of music / art / ... (like metal or hard rock) but you may always look for and enjoy pieces which had really made their place in the human culture and set high standards.

Delta and the like

Here comes a little story with - probably no morale.
It was two years ago or so when we went for an off-site meeting with my colleagues. And we played laser game. Somehow, during four or five plays I played I always (maybe with one exception, don't remember that well) placed first. Whatever my nick I chose my colleagues eventually called me "Delta". You may guess why. Eventually I had to make a confession to my colleagues after being "interrogated": I had seen "Black Hawk Down" maybe five times or even more (and some specific scenes many more times).


And here is the video which reminded me of this old story.


P.S. The interesting thing is that when we played laser game at grammar school my performance was say average. So either watching the movie made me a real shooter or my colleagues or just loosers ;-) (or something in between).

Here and there - missed things and the hard science of art

So this is my 201st post - sorry, the 200th was just in Czech.
Anyway, I spent the last weekend in Helsinki with ESN Alumni and had a really good time! What made it even better was an exhibition I randomly encountered (thanks to Lucia!): Georg Baselitz - Remix. An artist I missed in Prague - suddenly in my beloved city of Helsinki. This time missing something was not that bad - it just made my stay in Finland better. Perhaps there is some kind of deeper true behind this - missing "deadlines" may enrich you (but don't try that at work).

Back to Baselitz and his work: I really like it. The pics follow the line of expressionism and thus may look like something simple and easy to paint. But I am sure that if you would draw just one line in a different way the whole feeling from every particular painting would be different (the same applies to Jackson Pollock's work). It would be nice to have this kind of statement proved by some kind of "hard science" (neuroscience using MR or something like that). I don't think that would be that difficult. What might be difficult (and pretty interesting) would be to see the brain of an artist when creating such pieces.
