Maybe I am not romantic enough, but to me this is just a reminder that jet planes carry a large quantity of highly flammable fuel, and that there are no parachutes on board...

Lucky that the engine exploded on the ground.

I still prefer gliders - no engine, no fuel, no trouble :)

Well, noone got hurt, there was no fire, and I didn't even have to use my parachute :) But yes, it is yet another example that flying isn't just fun all the time.

I guess my problem is that I can't find crashed/burned planes beautiful :(
